Handmade for Butaque by Maria Amengual Capó in Can Bernadí Nou, Sa Cabaneta, on the island of Mallorca. She is the last ceramicist continuing a family tradition of producing gerres brodades, a decorative vase most commonly found in the area of Sa Cabaneta, Mallorca. These pieces often consist flowers, shells, or religious relics and are made of a local, porous clay. Once fired, the clay becomes lightweight and the detailed decorative elements come to life, making this tradition extremely unique and special.
Each vessel by Maria is one of a kind, no two pieces will be alike.
